Get to know your Doula
If you’re anything like me I love to get to know the people I am going to be working with. There’s something about building a connection with the people you are working with before hand that sets the tone for working together. So I thought I’d share some things about me.
I have been a doula and professional birth photographer for over 5 years now.
I am a certified doula, a certified childbirth educator, a certified VBAC doula and a trained trauma and attachment practitioner and specialize in birth for victims of sexual assault.
Way back when, I went to school to become a youth pastor and artist and it was through the outreach ministry I did in Hamilton that I fell in love with working with women and children.
I am a farmer’s wife and live on a farm here in Beamsville.
I love to garden!
I have two children and a baby on the way.
I am a super outdoorsy person. I love to hike, kayak, go boating, wind surf, paddle board and more.
I may not show it but I am super handy. I am the daughter of a carpenter who taught me how to use all the power tools and build all the things.
My favourite cafe is Conversations Cafe here in Beamsville and my favourite local restaurant is Dj’s Roadhouse in Wainfleet.
I LOVE to cook and bake! I grew up learning from my Italian grandma and nana how to make everything from scratch and still enjoy doing it as an adult.
As a doula I love to work closely with the families I work with and part of that is getting to know them so I can serve them in the best way possible. If you are interested in chatting further about doula services or birth photography, I’d love to connect sometime.
